Bulgaria’s industrial production fell 6.8% year-on-year in July 2026, deepening from a 2.5% decline in June. Manufacturing output contracted (-7.3% vs 1.4% in June), driven mainly by declines in fabricated metal products, except machinery and equipment (-29.5%), leather and related products (-25.9%), other transport equipment (-23.3%), textiles (-14.3%), chemicals and chemical products (-11.2%), other non-metallic mineral products (-9.8%), and motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers (-9.7%). Mining and quarrying activity also remained weak (-36.1% vs -49.0%). In contrast, electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply advanced (16.7% vs 8.7%). By main industrial grouping, output fell in investment goods (-9.1% vs 7.2%) and consumer durables (-7.4% vs 0.1%), while contraction deepened in intermediate goods (-11.3% vs -9.9%). Meanwhile, energy goods accelerated (10.0% vs 5.5%). On a monthly basis, industrial production fell 3.0% in July from a 0.1% drop in June.

Bulgaria Industrial Production Falls to 5-Month Low

Industrial production in Slovenia rose 2% year-on-year in July 2026, accelerating from 1.7% in the previous month. Activity expanded in manufacturing, rising 4.5% following a 2.5% increase in the prior month. Mining output plunged 29.4%, although at a slower pace than the 48.5% decline in June. Still, activity in utilities' supply reversed, falling 13.9% after a 5.1% increase. By product types, investments products rose 15.7%, accelerating from a 6.9% increase, while consumer product output rebounded (3.9% vs -3.9%), reflecting higher production of both durable (4.3% vs -4.7%) and non-durable (3.4% vs -3.7%) consumer goods. In contrast, production of energy products plunged 16.5%, while raw material output fell 1.4%. On a monthly basis, industrial production rose 1.4%, rebounding from a 2% drop in the prior month.

Methanol Hits Near 5-year High

Namibia’s annual inflation rate climbed to 5% in August 2026, the highest since February 2024, accelerating from 4.4% in each of the previous two months. The pickup was driven mainly by a sharp increase in transportation costs, with inflation in the category jumping to 13.2% from 9.3% in July. Meanwhile, prices at hotels, cafés and restaurants continued to rise at a steady annual rate of 6.2%, while health inflation edged up to 5% from 4.8%.On a monthly basis, the CPI rose by 0.6%, after a 0.1% increase in the prior month.
